Our DME Loan Closet
Where does the equipment come from?
Our equipment comes from both in-kind and monetary donations. DonaSOL is a 501(c)(3) federally tax-exempt corporation (EIN 33-4223338), and all donations go directly toward providing durable and non-durable medical equipment, furniture, household goods, and appliances to those in need on Vieques Island.
Can you pick up donated items?
Participants can pick up their items at our location at 467 Calle Magnolia.
Alternatively, items can be delivered if volunteers are available.
Please text us at 734-717-2715 to discuss your specific situation, as the availability of our volunteer force may vary.
Who is eligible to borrow?
The DME service is available at no cost to everyone, with priority given to residents in need.
How does the lending process work?
Every donated item is inspected, cleaned, recorded in our system, and placed in storage.
To borrow, simply call ahead or stop by to check availability. If an item is currently out on loan, we will add you to a waitlist and reach out as soon as it becomes available again.
What do borrowers need to provide?
When checking out items from Donasol's Closet, the responsible party must sign a loan agreement, acknowledging and accepting the terms outlined in the agreement.
Items must be returned when no longer needed so that others may benefit from them.
